Current Asian Football
League champions Asianos have been invited to compete in this
years prestigious UK Asian Community Cup. With back to back
titles and currently on road to set a new historical unbeaten
record in the league, the champions have been selected with 16
of the countries most privileged teams. With the draw made in
Canary Wharfs 30th floor executive lounge, this years
competition will be a real test for this talented team and
indeed test individual credentials and provide an ultimate
experience. The final will be played at Chelsea FC's Stamford
Bridge stadium, however the task to reach such stages will
require various tests to encounter.
In
2003 London Tigers held the first annual UK Asian Community
Football Festival Cup in partnership with Chelsea Football Club,
sponsored by Western Union and others. Chelsea FC and London
Tigers were the first organisations in London working together
promoting Asians grass root talents to other professional clubs,
media and public eye.
This event was on Television (Sky Sports News,
London Tonight, and Zee TV) and on many Radio stations Such As
BBC Asian Network, Radio Five Live, Big Blue etc.
The events’ chief Guest was Chelsea FC
Chairman Ken Bates, also in attendance were Charles Clarke MP
Secretary of State for Education, Tony Banks MP former Sports
Minister, Robert Evans MEP, Garth Crooks OBE BBC Commentator and
other Councillors and cabinet members of Westminster, Camden and
Brent.
The competition had
participants from over 15 nationalities with an attendance of
over 600 including players and spectators.

Mashallah, we have been invited to
play in the UK Asian Community Cup on 26th and 27th April 2008. The draw
took place on 27th March 2008 at Canary Wharf.
I will be finalising the squad on the Wednesday before the 26th April
2008. In the meantime I would like everyone to reduce the number of
times that you are playing football in a week. That means no Monday
night football. In addition .

THERE YEARLY SUBS AND CONTRIBUTION TO THE TOURNAMENT BY SUNDAY 6TH APRIL
2008
Students £20 non students £25. £10 contribution to the
tournament. I have arranged a circuit session on Tuesday evenings at
Peter May Chingford. This will start at 7.45. Everyone MUST ATTEND. If
you dont you will not be selected. You have three more games and
training sessions to impress.
