After what i heard was a lack-lust approach to
last weeks fixture against the league foot ticklers NVA at home,
many questions were being asked of some of Asianos players. EIC
have been going from strength to strength in the past few years
with a very physical team. Getting over an early cup exit
Asianos players seemed to realise before the game that this
wasn't a drill, it was time to stand up and earn your stripes,
maybe some of our players couldn't take the heat of living up to
the expectations people have of champions, and decided to to
leave the kitchen. Booma had a near full strength squad to
choose from but still had Ateek & Amir not fully fit but had the
boost of the returning Hamza.
The players took to the field in the usual
energetic manner, with the tantalising twins zubz & titch fully
fit, pulling up there socks and taking there usual posts. EIC
may have though because of the valentines week that there will
be love in the air but they got the complete opposite, I've seen
people get 2 years for doing less then what happened to them.
Closing down was the key to the majority of the goals which
flowed today, and the party was started by zubz who capitalised
on a mistake made by the EIC defence who were maybe distracted
by the sun reflecting off Pup's new boots, rushing onto a pass
from hamza, zubz planted the ball in the bottom corner of the
net with great power. the second goal came from titch who
collected the ball from zaki's persistent closing down and
lovingly done a delicate chip over the defender & keeper to make
it 2-0. iddy had a chance to make it 3-0 but missed a sitter
maybe because zubz didn't help him header the ball in after
landing it on his head, but iddy did end up finding his invite
to the party but ending up coming in from the back door with a
deflected header, which is his trademark this season, but its
the taking part that counts 3-0. Asianos defence was solid today
with iddy and cheeko not letting anyone walk on the grass in the
asianos area, but after a impossible to avoid handball against
sahir, EIC made it 3-1 with a penalty.
Asianos as many times before felt hard done by &
titch took the anger out on the ball by roasting three defenders
kebabish style then taking the ink off the ball with a batistuta
style shot 4-1. just before the break another handball inside
the asianos box by an EIC striker was missed by the ref who was
maybe looking at the 2.10pm train from queens road to leyton
midland and in doing so the striker made it 4-2. Sides remained
the same after half time but zubz had other ideas and linking up
with in-form sid flicked the ball over 2 defenders & the keeper
which was something you would expect to happen at the nou camp
and then delivering the ball into the empty net 5-2. Asianos win
a corner and after a poor clearance the ball fell to iddy who
hit the ball in with his shin, which he seems to be good at, at
the amount of times he has done this LOL! but its the goal that
counts 6-2. Sahir had a couple of chance to increase the lead
but no luck YET. Zubi made another powerful run then flicked it
to sid who found zubz who took the rushing defender out of play
with the drop of the shoulder, then done his zubidinho special
to wrong foot the keeper then heartlessly flicking the ball into
the top corner 7-2.
Could have been worse for EIC & unlucky for sid,
zaki and sahir who could of had a couple of goals each. Well
played Asianos. Lets keep this up and go take the sting out of
scorpions next week. man of match performances from sid, zubz
and titch. We shouldn't blame ourselves for what we done to them
today, they wanted to play football, who gives us the right not
to give them what they want.
