Played at Lower Hall
Walthamstow, the wind was playing havoc and strong gales were
going to give this game some freak incidents. Asianos started of
brightly with several chances missed during the first 20mins,
Aamir was executing some delightful set pieces in to the Forest
Gate half while Sid was causing mayhem on the right flank, Hamza
Patel also applied his instances by playing some exceptional
crosses in the danger area. Asianos were completely dominating
the half however the chances were flowing and Forest Gate had a
swoop on goal with 18 minutes gone, great save by new comer
Bilal Mulla in Goal after Keith was through for Forest Gate.
Several chances were flowing by and Forest Gate were unable to
play that final ball through as the captain (iddy) dictated his
back four exceptionally. Gusty winds made in difficult for
Asianos to keep the ball to bay and open the unstable Forest
Gate line despite having 7 corners and 4 set pieces.
20mins gone in the first half
and a scoop in the air by the Forest Gate midfielder
made the ball swirl around above the keepers head who thought he
kept it out. However the referee awarded a goal to Forest Gate
insisting the keeper managed to push the ball out past the net,
even though the wind was blowing the nets past the goal line.
Further more, Atiq's drive and determination to create an
opening nearly paid off when he managed to accelerate pass the
stranded defender only to lack his consistency in front of goal
and missed the target. Sid also managed to test the Forest Gate
keeper on two occasions with two 25 and 28 yard strikes however
just missed the target by a glimpse. However the chance of the
half came to Pupaldo, Sid was exceptional with his drive and
spirit down the right wing flank and after leaving two players
for dead crossed the ball towards the back post, only to see
Atiq and Pupz collide in confusion 2 yards in front of goal, to
witness their attempts result in nothing but a goal kick.
Despite several chances missed, this didn't restrict pupaldo to
not interven and made his presence in front of the back line
whilst getting stuck in during the course of the half.
Asianos missing 6 first team players (whose goal tally between
them totals past 40) managed to create many first half chances
but failed to make the most of these opportunities. First half ended Asianos 0 - 1
F Gate and the manager had to make some tactical changes by
bringin on the teams inspirational Sahir to the left flank and
altering Hamza behind Atiq. Second half Asianos again bossed the midfield and didnt
give Forest Gate any oppurtunities to create anychances.
However, Asianos managed to apply some pressure and get the
equalizer scored by Yasin Chanawala from a corner (55mins) . On
65 mins Hamza played a pass to Atiq who managed to swivel past
one defender, edge it pass the second and unleash a
ferocious drive in the left hand corner, definitely one of
the best goals the young talent has scored all season, 2-1 Asianos.
Asianos completely dominating
proceedings now finished the game off with 22 minutes remaining
on the clock, Forest Gate were determined to get an equaliser
however were restricted with the captain maintaining his job
well at the back, a counter attack and a burst from hamza, atiq
and sahir started of this move, Atiq played a through ball
to Sahir and with the drive and determination to get off the
mark, burst from the half way line to calmly slot away the ball
into the net, game sealed. Later in the dying stages Azhar Ali came on as sub to rub
salt in the wounds by scoring to take the score to 4-1 and no
doubt reflecting on the managers comments of "brining on a Papa
smurf2 as recalled.
Asianos
still celebrating the goal went to sleep for a few seconds while
Forest Gate score a consolation goal from a set piece to bring
the score to a more respectable state. Final score Asianos 4 - 2
Forest Gate. Great victory, while the superstars were missing
due to extenuating and international duties, the experienced
collaborated well to provide an exceptional performance.
