It was top
v bottom at low Hall on this pleasant and sunny afternoon and it
was a tale of two shooters and two Yasin’s firstly we had the
old pro Yasin Chanawala who took a record number of 10 or more
shots without actually hitting the target but gave an
explanation for each miss and Yasin Patel (Titch) who scored a
stunning hat-trick without celebrating let alone explaining each
strike.
Asianos
began the game in 2nd gear and it was the struggling
Walthamstow who took the lead with a free kick which keeper
Bilal claimed swerved or was it Bilal who swerved the free kick
never the less Walthamstow were 1 – 0 up after 20 mins. For the
next 10 to 15 minutes Chanawala gave us all a lesson on how NOT
to shoot and it was the usual outside the boot stuff.
Mo
Bensultane made his long awaited return after securing a visa
from Algeria but was on the bench until Atiq faked an injury
after he missed a sitter so earlier than anticipated Mo made his
return against the team that feared him the most and he set up
the equaliser immediately for Titch who showed Chanawala how to
finish and in style with a screamer from just outside the box
1-1 and Asianos had woken up finally. It was 2-1 before the
break this time Zoobz played a great cross field ball to Sid out
on the right who picked out Yasin (Titch not Chanawala) who
tapped in to make it 2-1. Then came the moment when Titch had a
huge smile on his face and a determined look for a hat- trick.
Not because he wanted the match ball but because T, from the
sidelines, shouted out ‘Titch if you score a hat trick I’ll buy
you new boots’. T should have known he made a BIG mistake
because Titch loves scoring against Walthamstow and the little
genius was clearly in the mood for some goals.
Second half
Asianos started pretty slowly but a poor goal kick from Shoaib
his 15th of the day fell straight to Titch’s feet,
just inside the area, end result ball in top corner which meant
hat-trick and new boots to follow for Titch. Mo managed to grab
a goal via a penalty which he deserved on his comeback and he
showed signs of his touch and class.
Asianos
passed and moved the ball well throughout the game with Zoobz
and Amair pulling the strings throughout they showed signs of
their quick movement and manager Zahir urged the boys at the
beginning of the match to pass and move and to keep in mind we
have the tournament and unbeaten record to play for. Sid and
Titch were up and down the pitch as usual and the defence were
yawing for most of the game as they didn’t have much to do which
explains why Cheeko was seen in the opposition box on a number
of occasions, without getting anywhere near the ball. Iddy
managed to get himself in the Ref’s book for a childish fit when
he kicked the ball away in anger in the first half and Anja took
the meaning of adidas’ ‘Impossible is nothing’ slogan by getting
tackled by the ball and landing on his hand all this and his
hair didn’t move out of place once.
It finished
4-1 to Asianos but really if truth be told it should have been 8
or 9 had Yasin Chanawala not sold his shooting boots to the
Fonejacker!!
